I can't remember the last time I willingly got up this early on a Saturday before. Dave had class this morning and woke me up, then I couldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to just take a shower and start the day.

There's a lot I need to do...finish the stupid portfolio book so I can send it to the publishers. I'm almost done. Only 5 more pages I think. I actually might add more pages to it because I made the last section be photography and I think only having a few shots in that section would be silly. I was thinking about heading to Michael's later to see about framing this drawing that Dave's friend made him a few years ago that he still hasn't framed. Since he's in class and I'm awake, today would be a good day to sneak out and get it done without him knowing. I also might head to the new mall and see if I can start Christmas shopping. And I need to buy Mackenzie a gift for her birthday ( a Hannah Montana singing something or other doll). Ahh, lots to do.

Tonight Dave wants to watch the UFC fight at Buffalo Wild Wings. I'm always up for UFC, and wings. Hopefully I'll get this stupid book done by tonight because I would like a chance to get out and do something fun.

It's midterm week at school, my final midterm week, and the stress is beginning to set in. If I wasn't so broke, I would take a day off of work just to get all this crap done. This stupid portfolio book is stressing me out. I've been having nightmares that it's going to come back all screwed up and I'm not going to have enough time to make another one, therefore I won't graduate. Seriously, nightmares. I know I'm lame. I'm about halfway done creating it and decided that I MUST get it done and off to the printer by the end of this week. I MUST, I MUST I MUST.

My site is pretty much done. I just have probably like 4-5 hours of work to put in it, most of it being QC to make sure I didn't misspell anything. I showed it to m friend Chris and he already found something. I'm sure there is more because I'm not the greatest at typing.

I just want all this stuff to be done. I can't believe that I only have 5 more weeks of school left.

In other more awesome news, Neil and Sarah are coming to visit for New Years. I wasn't really excited for the holidays, but now I can't wait for them to come. I knew about this on Sunday and haven't had a chance to post because I've been so busy with all his school stuff.

For the past like...2 months, I've been working weekends at the portrait studio, which is fun, but since I have tons of stuff to do for school and I already work everyday during the week, it cuts into my school work time. Today I was scheduled to work 9:30-6:30. Corrie was expecting a pretty busy day. We were supposed to be double booked every half hour almost all day, but I guess last night when appointments were being confirmed a lot of people rescheduled. She has a ton of trainees, so she was giving them all the work to do so they could practice and get comfortable. She sent me home at 11:30 because there was just nothing going on. I was fine with it, since I have a lot of stuff that needed to get done. I went back to Dave's house and started putting away all of the Halloween decorations. everything is cleaned up, except for the big inflatables that were in the yard. I'm not sure where he wants to store them and I didn't really feel like trying to find a spot, so I left that for him. He should be happy when he gets home because I knew the last thing he wanted to do was clean stuff up after sitting in class all day.
After cleaning, I made chicken salad. Dave said last night that he was craving it and it's super easy to make. He didn't have any celery, like he said he did, so I just put some more onions in it. I tasted it and it was pretty good, but the celery gives it something special.

I have a lot of homework I need to do. I'm so glad that portfolio is my only class. I couldn't imagine how much stress I would have right now if I had other classes with homework. Time to get into nerd mode and start coding.

Before I know it, Christmas will be here. It seems like the weeks are just flying by. I often find my self saying, "holy crap, it's already Friday!" I've been busy working, putting my portfolio together (I made strides on it last night-woot woot) and with Dave. I haven't even really had a chance to think about Christmas all that much.

I'm not really sure what I'm going to get anybody, but I do plan on doing a lot of my shopping online in stores that support mypoints, so I can get more points for giftcards and more gifts. chrissy already told me she wants the Sex and the City movie, so at least I have one of her gifts down. I never really know what to get my parents, especially my Dad. They always say to get them nothing cause they don't want me spending money on them, but of course that doesn't fly well. I might get my mom some scrapbooking supplies, since she's into that big time now, but my Dad I have no clue. I usually get a little something for my grandparents too, something Christmas-y for their house, calendars, decorations-something like that. I usually can find their stuff in a Hallmark or store that sells home stuff, so they aeren't usually too hard to shop for.

Then there's Dave. He'll be the hardest. There's so many things I want to get for him, but money is always the issue. I know he's going to get me something big and spend a lot of money, even though I told him not too.(He doesn't listen very well.) I would really like to get my friend Jenn to paint him a mural on one of the walls in his pez room, but I want it to be a surprise and it would be pretty hard to get him out of his own house for a few days. I'm also thinking tickets to see the Blue Man Group. He's been wanting to go for awhile now and we have passes to Universal so we could make a day out of it. That sounds like the better option, even though I think the mural would be way cooler.

Ugh, I hate doing all this shopping...

History has been made and I'm glad I got to witness it. Yes, I voted for Obama, but I'm not overly happy about the fact that he won like most people are. This is the first election I actually participated in and I'm glad to say that I did. I was set on Ron Paul, until he dropped (he didn't really want to be president anyway) so I thought long and hard about things and voted Dem. This pretty much exiled me out of my family of right wing conservative, republican, Bush supporters, but we live in America, where we have the right to choose, and I chose for the guy that made more sense to me. Yeah, I probably won't make as much money, taxes will probably get raised, things are going to be screwed up for awhile, but the way I see it, it would have happened that way no matter who got in office. Both guys talked a lot of game, but in the end when you break it down both would end up doing the same thing--nothing.

So many people think that the next president is going to change America, but truth is, 4 years isn't enough time to fix the shit storm we got ourselves into. And I'm not blaming Bush.Sure, I think he's a dumbass, but we elected the guy not once, but twice. I'm sick of hearing about the economy that WE (not the president) fucked for ourselves.WE were the ones that decided to live beyond our means. WE wanted the $300,000 house with the BMW in the driveway. WE only made $30,000 a year and knew we couldn't pay it back. WE let our expenses get out of control. WE didn't know how to balance our checkbook and pay the bills on time. WE made the banks go out of business because WE were the ones that got the mortgages we couldn't pay back on the houses we couldn't afford. Sure, W. got us into this war we don't seem to be getting out of and I'm pissed about that, amongst other things, but WE are just as much to blame as the monkey in office.

So hopefully, If this next guy does anyhting, it will be that he educated America and makes us realize we all have to work together to get out of this mess. I was set on Ron Paul, until he dropped (he didn't really want to be president anyway) so I thought long and hard about things and voted Dem.
This weekend was an absolute blast.

Halloween was awesome. We sat outside for a few hours and handed out candy pretty much non-stop. So many kids. People loved our decorations; some kids were scared, but most of them couldn't wait to come to the house. Dali looked cute too:

Saturday
Dave and I woke up around 7:30 because we had tons of stuff to do. I voted (yay!) then we ate breakfast at Don Pan, went to Wal mart and Target and picked up lots of half off Halloween stuff. We came home, then went to Brandon for lunch with Dave's parents, grandparents, and aunt. They all flew in from Portugual a few days ago and wanted to visit. It was a bit of a rush, but worth it, even though i couldn't understand them. We came home, cleaned, decorated some more and then it was time for the party. We had a blast. Best party in years.
